NICOLE L. FAVA
Nicole L. Fava is a founding partner of Fava Sand Law Group, LLC. She has devoted most of her career to insurance defense and specializes in workers’ compensation law. Ms. Fava began her career defending civil rights violations, and criminal/administrative charges for the Fraternal Order of Police both at the State and local level. For the last fifteen years, she has been appearing regularly in New Jersey Workers' Compensation Courts. Throughout that time, Ms. Fava has successfully defended numerous workers' compensation claims representing employers, insurance carriers and TPA's. Ms. Fava earned her J.D. in 1996 from Widener University Delaware Law School, and her B.A. in 1993 from Cabrini College. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and United States District Court, District of New Jersey.
TERRY SAND
Terry Sand is also a founding partner of Fava Sand Law Group, LLC. Ms. Sand is a former New York City prosecutor with over fifteen years diverse litigation experience. She transitioned from public service to insurance defense while employed as a claim adjuster for RPS Gallagher adjusting professional liability claims. Her combined adjusting and litigation experience are a valuable asset to the firm to assist with strategy and insurance procedures. Ms. Sand earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and her B.A. from Fordham University. She is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and held licenses to adjust insurance claims in multiple jurisdictions.
Robert J. Young
Robert is certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a worker's compensation attorney. He was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1981. He was also a Member of the Executive Committee; Workers’ Compensation Section of the NJSBA from 1996-2006.
Robert was Selected as a New Jersey Super Lawyer from 2005-2017.
He is a Legislative coordinator; Workers’ Compensation Section; New Jersey, as well as a member of the State Bar Association (NJSBA).
Robert was selected as a Master to the country’s first Inn of Court program for the practice of Workers’ Compensation and served in that capacity from 1995-1997. He is a Member of the COURTS committee, as well as was a Member of the Division’s Judicial Nominating Committee from 2001-2004. He was a Member of Division’s Motion for Medical and Temporary Disability Task Force. Robert is Retained as an expert in Workers’ Compensation insurance policy disputes. He has regularly monitored the legal services rendered by approved panel attorneys.
Robert has vast experience in handling complex and plant closing claims. He has also made numerous appearances in the New Jersey Appellate Division and the New Jersey Supreme Court. Robert's clients include a wide range of insurance companies, third party administrators, Joint Insurance Funds, self-insured accounts National Accounts and individuals. A short list of these clients include General Electric, St. Peters University Hospital, Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, Peerless Insurance Company, Wausau Insurance Company, City of Clifton, Strategic Comp and Equity Residential
CAROL L. PEREZ
Carol Perez has been a practicing attorney for over thirty six (36) years. Previously, Carol was a co-founder and partner at the Law Firm of Young & Perez before taking on her present role in 2020 with the Fava Sand Law Offices. During her career Carol has committed herself to defending the interests of employers and workers’ compensation insurance carriers throughout the State of New Jersey.
Carol is the acting Chair of the State of New Jersey, Supreme Court Workers Compensation Certification Committee since 2013. Carol is Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Workers Compensation Law Attorney and is a member of the Hunterdon County Bar Association since 2000. Carol served as a member of the New Jersey Supreme Court District Ethics Committee (1995-1998 and 2003-2006).
Carol has made guest appearances on television and radio shows on Tiempo, Channel 7 Sunday News Show and It’s the Law the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce Radio Show, discussing workers compensation law and the rights of employers and employees in the workplace. Carol is a lecturer on New Jersey Workers Compensation Law and speaks to business owners about the importance of Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
Carol is the President of Hunterdon Helpline, a non-profit organization, who serves the senior and disabled population as well as the homeless in Hunterdon County.
Carol is a graduate from the Santa Clara University School of Law and received her degree in 1984.
CORINNE MARTIN
Corinne Martin joined Fava Sand Law Group in 2020 contributing her more than twenty years’ experience in the area of workers’ compensation to our already growing practice. While Ms. Martin is well-versed in many areas of law, her centered knowledge of worker’s compensation claims vastly adds to the firm’s specialized defense while also expanding our coverage to include Pennsylvania claims. Ms. Martin earned her J.D. from Creighton School of Law in 1996 and her B.S. from Creighton University. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
